Cover Your Walls with Damien Hirst
My listing at 1220 Cabrillo Ave, a 3 bedroom / 3 bath in Venice is a designer curated modern architectural masterpiece. It features a gentle entry fountain leading to a voluminous living room with grand modern chandelier, fireplace, and rich walnut millwork throughout downstairs level. This is home is very unique and has some of the best interior design I have ever seen.
One of my favorite things about this home is the limited edition Damien Hirst wallpaper.
If you’re not familiar with his work, Hirst is an English conceptual artist from Bristol, England who has become internationally renowned for his work revolving around death, rebirth, immortality and beauty.
The master bath features his iconic butterfly print known as “The Rape of Persephone”.
The powder room is adorned with his wall chart of pills and pharmaceutical products which was originally produced for the Pharmacy restaurant in London. It’s cheeky and irreverent by juxtaposing drugs with books of the Bible.
The other has his infamous flowers and cigarette butt print known as “Beautiful Inside My Head Forever” – his only floral pattern wallpaper. Cigarettes are also a recurring theme in Hirst’s work.
Here is a close up of the flowers and cigarette butts that I took.
